Iran set to execute 18-year-old on false charge of sodomy

An 18-year-old Iranian is facing imminent execution on charges of homosexuality, even though he has no legal representation. Ebrahim Hamidi, who is not gay, was sentenced to death for lavat, or sodomy, on the basis of "judge's knowledge", a legal loophole that allows for subjective judicial rulings where there is no conclusive evidence.

Mostafaei is safe but his family is still detained

Stop Child Executions is happy to report that human rights lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei who represents dozens of Iranian childre on death row is safe in Turkey.
As reported in our previous blog, he was missing for a few days after he was requested by Iranian officials to report to Evin prison for questionning for the second time in a row. When he failed to report to authorities, regime officials detained his wife and brother in law as ransom until Mostafaei would turn himself in.

Mr. Mosfaei was smuggled into Turkey and was detained in a Turkish prison. Human Rights Activists around the world are trying to help him. UNHCR is cooperating in providing asylum.

بازداشت همسر و برادر همسر محمد مصطفایی، وکیل دادگستری

آقای مصطفایی به دادسرای اوین احضار شد

از ایران خبر می رسد که فرشته حلیمی، همسر محمد مصطفایی وکیل دادگستری، و برادرش فرهاد حلیمی شنبه شب در تهران بازداشت شده اند.

آقای مصطفایی شنبه صبح به صورت کتبی به دادسرای زندان اوین احضار شده بود که با حضور در دادسرا به دلیل شماره حسابی که برای آزادی یک نوجوان محکوم به اعدام اعلام کرده بود، مورد بازخواست قرار گرفت.

اما به گزارش رسانه های حقوق بشری او بعد از بازگشت از دادسرا مجددا و این بار به صورت تلفنی به دادسرای زندان اوین احضار شد.

 

ساعتی بعد از این احضار تلفنی، ماموران امنیتی با حکم جلب به دفتر او رفتند که آقای مصطفایی در دفتر
